Human NGAL Mab
The Mouse Anti-Human Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) Monoclonal Antibody (100 µg) is a specialized antibody targeting NGAL, an iron-trafficking protein involved in various biological processes such as apoptosis, innate immunity, and renal development. NGAL binds iron through association with 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (2,5-DHBA), a siderophore similar to bacterial enterobactin, and regulates intracellular iron levels by either delivering or removing iron depending on the context. The iron-bound form (holo-24p3) increases intracellular iron by binding to the SLC22A17 receptor, while the iron-free form (apo-24p3) reduces intracellular iron, triggering apoptosis. NGAL plays a role in innate immunity by sequestering iron, limiting bacterial growth. This monoclonal antibody provides high specificity for NGAL, supporting research in areas such as apoptosis, immunity, and iron metabolism.
