Bio-T kit Detection of COVID-19 in food
GENERAL INFORMATION
Severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the name given to the new coronavirus that originated in 2019 and is the causative agent of COVID-19 (the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus). The virus was originally known as the 2019-nCoV nomenclature. SARS-CoV-2 is a new coronavirus strain that has not been previously identified in humans. The genome of these viruses consists of single-stranded RNA protected by two protein coatings - nucleocapsid and capsid. Its genetic characteristics are significantly different from SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV.
Bio-T kit COVID-19
contains a specific detection system for novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2)
in food,
beverages
, water and surfaces
by reverse transcriptase polymerase reaction (qRT-PCR) with exogenous internal positive control (IPC).
This kit belongs to the FOOD line that gathers a set of kits dedicated to the detection of pathogens or genes coding for proteins responsible for health disorders in humans or animals.
PRINCIPLE OF THE TEST
The kit contains a specific ready-to-use system for the detection of new coronavirus (COVID-19) by real-time reverse transcription
PCR
(RT-PCR). The kit contains Super Mix for specific amplification of viral RNA. The reaction was performed in one-step RT-PCR in real time. The first step is reverse transcription (RT), during which the viral RNA is transcribed into complementary DNA. Thermostable DNA polymerase is then used to amplify specific gene fragments by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Fluorescence is emitted and measured by the optical unit of the system during PCR. Detection of the amplified viral DNA fragment was performed in the fluorimetric channel FAM and Cy5 with fluorescent quencher dye
NFQ-MGB
.
